Do you enjoy working with young children? Would you like to work in a preschool or child care setting or become an Elementary School Teacher? This is the program for you! Opportunity to earn 9 college credits, your Foundations of Early Childhood Education Certificate, and get started on your path to earning your elementary teacher license.
This program provides students with the knowledge, techniques, and strategies to become qualified to be an early childhood teacher in Colorado. It meets or exceeds the education requirements for Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) “Early Childhood Teacher (ECT).” CDHS requires 60 hours of practicum experience within an ECE setting. Therefore, students will be given the opportunity to work hands-on in a early childhood facility. There are requirements that the student must be a minimum of 16 years of age and pass a criminal background check.
